Staying close to your university or college is essential since it makes it simpler for you to use the facilities there, but if your request for on-campus housing is declined, you might consider considering private residences outside the campus. A survey conducted by the Department of Education revealed that just 10% of the beds at the 50 public TVET colleges across the nation were available for the thousands of students enrolled there.

Universities are also dealing with the problem of not having enough available beds for the number of students that need to be housed there. Due to this, many students are left with no choice but to look for accommodation outside of the designated dormitories. Since NSFAS does not directly pay private residences, the institution/student would have to pay the residence after the student receives their NSFAS accommodation allowance in their bank account

Online Nsfas Applicationb Date Open For 2024-2025

The online application date for Nsfas 2024-2025 begins on November 21st, 2023, and closes on January 31st, 2024. Therefore, applicants are requested to submit their applications by the deadline.

How To Fill The Nsfas Private Accommodation Form 2024-2025

For NSFAS to pay for a student’s stay in a private residence, the student must ensure that the residence has earned NSFAS accreditation. To fill out the private accommodation form for 2024-2025, follow the steps below:

STEP 1: Log in on your self-service

STE2: CLICK ON THE “NSFAS Private Accom Appl” TILE

STEP 3: Carefully read the information in the “Instruction” block.

STEP 4: Click on “New Application”

STEP 5: Carefully read the information in the “Instruction” block.

STEP 6: Please indicate/select if you are staying in Accredited Accommodation or in Private Accommodation.

STEP 7:
Option 1: Accredited Accommodation
If you are staying in Accredited Accommodation please click on the magnifying glass and select the accredited landlord you are staying at
Option 2: Private Accommodation
Complete the following fields. These fields are compulsory:

STEP 8: Capture the “Move-in date”, “Move-out date” and “Monthly Amount” according to the information that reflects on your agreement:

STEP 9: Capture your “Parent/Guardian Living Address”. This should correspond with the supporting documentation that you will upload with the
application.

STEP 10: Please indicate if you give UFS consent to share personal information with your parent/guarding, funders/bursars/donors, and Service provider (lessor)

STEP 11: Upload your contract with your landlord and proof of home address.

This is compulsory. Click on “Add Attachment”.
