Will Nsfas Be Open In January 2025-2026
As the new academic year approaches, many prospective students are eager to know whether the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) will be open for applications or disbursements in January 2025-2026. NSFAS plays a critical role in supporting financially disadvantaged students across South Africa, ensuring that higher education is accessible to those who need it most. Understanding the timing of NSFAS applications and payments is essential for students planning their academic future.
For the 2025-2026 academic year, students who are currently enrolled in a public university or public Tvet college as well as those who are applying for financial help for the first time must submit their applications and all completed supporting documentation by January 31st, 2025. The current academic year will not allow for late registration. On the exact deadline, the NSFAS Bursary Portal is expected to shut down, which means no application forms will be accepted after the deadline.
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme is a programme run by the South African government that offers financial aid to undergraduate students to assist in covering the cost of their higher education after they graduate from high school.
