Because some students face financial difficulties when it comes to college, Tvet colleges in South Africa have made it possible for its students to apply for the NSFAS bursaries and funds so students get the sound of mind to read their courses. The NSFAS is the National Students Financial Aid Scheme, a financial hub that provides financial support for South African students.
The Nsfas application open for the 2023-2024 academic period will start from the 1st of November 2022 and will be closing on the 7th of January 2023 therefore all who are interested should in a haste submit their applications through their official website or the regional offices. Applicants are urged to apply on time because Nsfas will not accept late applications.
Who Is Eligible For Nsfas For Tvet College 2023-2024
All the Tvet Colleges in South Africa have now made it possible for their students to apply for the Nsfas funds, but applicants must fall within the following categories:
- All South African citizens
- All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
- Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
- The person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
- Students who started studying before 2018 and whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.
What Is The Application Date For Nsfas 2023
Nsfas online application date for 2023 will be opened from the 28th of September 2022 and will be closing on the 31st of January 2023. All students who want to apply must do that within the application cycle since no late application will be accepted.

What Does The Tvet College Nsfas Fund Covers In 2023-2024
A student can receive the Nsfas funds to pay for the following:
- Accommodation in an urban area R24,000 per annum
- Accommodation in a peri-urban area R18,900 per annum
- Accommodation in a rural area R15,750 per annum
- Transport (up to 40 km from the institution) R7,350 per annum
- Transport R7000 per annum
- Incidental/personal care allowance R2900 per annum

- PWD(Persons with Disability): Complete the disability form
