Many are they that keep asking, does Nsfas provide funds for private schools in South Africa, the answer is no they do not because Nsfas has been designed to provide financial support to South African Students who study in the public (government colleges and Universities) institutions.

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a government-sponsored scholarship that offers bursaries to students to cover registration fees, tuition, accommodations and monthly allowances.
The online application date for Nsfas 2023-2024 begins on November 2nd, 2022, and closes on January 7th, 2023. Therefore, applicants are requested to submit their applications by the deadline.
Nsfas 2023 Application Requirements

You’re a South African citizen
If you’re a SASSA grant recipient, you qualify for funding
You have a combined household income of not more than R350 000 per year
A person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per year
