Which  Tvet Colleges Courses Does Nsfas Fund In 2024/2025

 

Nsfas provides financial support for students or prospective students who have gained admission into any of the South African public colleges or universities to pay for their studies through the bursary provided by the Nsfas scheme. Every course or programme that is been offered at any of the institutions mentioned above is funded by Nsfas with just a few exceptions.

All undergraduate courses are funded by Nsfas but postgraduate courses are not funded by Nsfas. Therefore all applicants who wish to apply for the bursary can do so right away because the applications are currently open. The 2024-2025 application window is open from the 21st of November 2023 and will be closing on the 31st of January 2024.

When Will the Application Date For Nsfas Bursaries Be Open For  2024-2025

The application doors for Nsfas will be opened for the year 2023 to all applicants from the 7th of November 2022 and closes on the 21st of January 2023. Applicants are therefore urged to apply within the application deadline.

Which Courses Does Nsfas Dont Fund In 2024-2025

Apart from that every course that is offered at Tvet colleges and Universities is funded by Nsfas, there are just a few that are not funded. Below is the list of courses that are not funded by Nsfas:

• Postgraduate qualifications
• Part-time studies
• Private institution courses
• A second undergraduate qualification
• Short courses

What Are The Requirements Needed To Apply For Nsfas Bursary 2024-2025

The following supporting documents are required from all applicants to be taken into consideration, so make sure you have them before submitting your application. Applications lacking these materials won’t be accepted:

• South African ID document (this can include any of the following):
• copy of green ID document
• temporary ID from the DHA
• copy of both sides of the Smart ID card
• unbridged birth certificate
• Non-SASSA grant applicants: Parents, guardians, or spouse ID documents (copies only)
• Own, parents, guardians, or spouse proof of income, if a non-SASSA applicant (this can include any of the following):
• latest payslip if employed (not older than 3 months)
• UIF letter
• employment letter
• retrenchment letter, if a non-SASSA applicant
• Students with disabilities: complete and sign the Disability Annexure A Form
• Students who are recognized as Vulnerable Children by the Department of Social Development: complete and sign the Vulnerable Child
• Declaration Form
