If you are a student of the Vaal University of Technology and looking for financial support to pursue your academic dreams, look no further than the National Student Financial Aid Scheme. The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a public entity reporting to the Department of Higher
Education and Training (DHET).

It provides financial assistance in the form of study bursaries to qualifying students who plan to study at Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges and public universities and Vaal is one of the participating institutions. By applying for NSFAS funding, you can cover expenses such as books accommodation, and living allowances.

Once you have finished your studies and found a job, you must pay back this debt to NSFAS. Depending on your academic standing, up to 40% of your NSFAS study loan may be converted into a bursary that you are not required to repay. All students who wish to apply for the Nsfas bursaries can now do so online through the official website of Nsfas(www.nsfas.org.za). Interested applicants must meet all the application requirements to receive the funds.

Nsfas Application Date Open At VUT 2025

All new or fresh students who have enrolled at VUT can now apply for the Nsfas Funds. The online application date to apply for Nsfas will be opened from the 20th of September 2024, and will applications will be closing on the 15th of December 2024. Applicants are therefore urged to apply as early as possible.

What Does Nsfas Vut 2025 Cover

Students who were successful in receiving the Nsfas at VUT can use the bursary to pay for the following:

Registration fees
Tuition fees

They also receive allowances for the following:

Food
Personal care
Learning Material
Accommodation or transport

Nsfas Vut Application Requirements for 2025

All students at VUT who are applying for the NSFAS must make sure they provide the following documents:

Cellphone number and email address
Copy of your ID or birth certificate
Copies of your parents, guardian or spouse’s ID
proof of your income or 1 year’s IRP5 (if applicable,)
Your parents, guardian, or spouse’s evidence of income
Those who are SASSA grant recipients, are not to have any proof of income.
All Applicants with a disability are to submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
All recognized applicants as Vulnerable Children by the Department of Social Development should also
provide a completed and signed
Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.

Follow the process below to apply online for the NSFAS bursaries for 2025:

Visit NSFAS Application 2025 website: www.nsfas.org.za
Then, you click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab.
Create a myNSFAS account.
Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab.
Update your personal information.
Answer the questions you see on the screen.
Upload all the required supporting documents.
Finally, click on submit
