Are Nsfas Allowances Extended Date For 2023-2024

NSFAS has specified that receivers of allowances in 2022 will continue to receive them in 2023. Applications for the NSFAS can be submitted electronically through the myNSFAS portal, which enables students to apply using a smartphone or computer. In order to do this, you must create a myNSFAS account using your personal data.

 

Use your myNSFAS account to submit your NSFAS for the bursary if you believe you are now enrolled or have already attended a public Tvet College or University. To submit an application, students must log into their NSFAS accounts.

 

South Africans who missed the deadline to submit their financial assistance applications for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) can now sigh with relief. The deadline has been extended, per a statement from the government financial assistance agency, to offer prospective students one more opportunity to apply.

Nsfas Allowance Extended Date In 2023-2024

The online Nsfas application date for the 2023 academic year starts from the 2nd of November 2022 and closes on the 7th of January 2023. But due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, the date may be extended to the 27th of January 2023.

 

What Does The Nsfas Extended Allowance Cover 2023-2024

The Nsfas allowances can be used for the following:

UNIVERSITY

• Accommodation
  As per the actual costs charged by the university (costs for private accommodation must not exceed costs for university residence)
• Transport (up to 40 km from the institution) R7 500  per annum
• Living allowance R15, of 000  per annum
• Book allowances R5200 per annum
• Incidental/personal care allowance R2900 per annum for students in catered residences

 

TVET COLLEGES

• Accommodation in an urban area R24,000 per annum
• Accommodation in a peri-urban area R18,900 per annum
• Accommodation in a rural area R15,750 per annum
• Transport (up to 40 km from the institution) R7,350  per annum
• Transport R7000 per annum
• Incidental/personal care allowance R2900 per annum

 

Nsfas Requirements Needed To Apply For Nsfas Allowance Extended In 2023  2023

Attach to your application the following documents:

• All applicants must provide a copy of their ID document. Smart ID cards: a copy with both sides of the smart ID must be provided
• A temporary ID issued by the Department of Home Affairs
• Non-SASSA applicants must provide ID copies of parent/s, legal guardian/guardian or spouse,
• Proof of income applicant and/or parents/legal guardian/spouse (where applicable (non-SASSA) should provide latest payslip, not older 3 months, UIF letter, appointment letter, retrenchment letter (applicant and/or parent(s), legal guardian/spouse).
