If you are a South African citizen struggling with financial issues and intend to further your higher education, you must know which courses are funded by NSFAS for 2025. NSFAS supports undergraduate programs ensuring that students from poor backgrounds can access quality education to pursue their dreams. Knowing the list of courses funded by NSFAS at public institutions is important.

Nsfas provides financial support for students or prospective students who have gained admission into any of the South African public colleges or universities to pay for their studies through the bursary provided by the Nsfas scheme. Every course or program that is been offered at any of the institutions mentioned above is funded by NSFAS with just a few exceptions. Below is the list of programs and courses funded by NSFAS in South Africa.

Are Applications Open For NSFAS Bursaries 2025

The application doors for Nsfas will open for 2025 to all applicants from the 20th of September 2024 and close on the 15 of December 2024. Applicants are therefore urged to apply within the application deadline.

NSFAS Funded Courses for 2025-2026

Below is the list of courses that are funded by Nsfas:

• Engineering Studies – (National Certificate -Vocational) NQF levels 2-4 & Engineering studies – Report 191 N1-N6
• Engineering and Related Design; Electrical Infrastructure; Civil Engineering Construction and Information Technology & Computer Science
• Business & Utility Studies (National Certificate – Vocational) NQF levels 2-4 & Report 191 N1-N6
• Management; Marketing; Finance; Office Administration; Economics & Accounting; Education & Development; Hospitality; Tourism; Safety in Society and Transport & Logistics
• Pre-Learning Programme (PLP) funding through NSFAS

 Requirements Needed To Apply For Nsfas Bursary

The following supporting documents are required from all applicants to be taken into consideration, so make sure you have them before submitting your application. Applications lacking these materials won’t be accepted:

• South African ID document (this can include any of the following):
• copy of green ID document
• temporary ID from the DHA
• copy of both sides of the Smart ID card
• unbridged birth certificate
• Non-SASSA grant applicants: Parents, guardians, or spouse ID documents (copies only)
• Own, parents, guardians, or spouse proof of income, if a non-SASSA applicant (this can include any of the following):
• latest payslip if employed (not older than 3 months)
• UIF letter
• employment letter
• retrenchment letter, if a non-SASSA applicant
• Students with disabilities: complete and sign the Disability Annexure A Form
• Students who are recognized as Vulnerable Children by the Department of Social Development: complete and sign the Vulnerable Child
• Declaration Form
