Nsfas Tvet Colleges Application

Because some students face financial difficulties when it comes to college, Tvet colleges in South Africa have allowed its students to apply for the NSFAS bursaries and funds so students get the sound of mind to read their courses. The NSFAS is the National Students Financial Aid Scheme, a financial hub that provides financial support for South African students.

The NSFAS applications are open therefore all who are interested should in haste submit their applications through their official website or the regional offices. Applicants are urged to apply on time because Nsfas will not accept late applications.

 Application Open Date For 2025 Nsfas

Nsfas online application date for 2025 will be opened on the 20th of September 2024 and closed on the 15th of December 2024. All students who want to apply must do that within the application date.

Which Student Can Apply For NSFAS

If you are a citizen of South Africa, intend to enroll in school in 2025, or if you are enrolled in a public university or TVET college and you match the following criteria, you are eligible for an NSFAS bursary:

  • All South African citizens
  • All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
  • Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
  • A person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
  • SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any proof of income.

What Does The  2025-2026 Tvet College Nsfas Fund Cover

A student can receive the NSFAS funds to pay for the following:

  • Accommodation in an urban area is R24,000 per annum
  • Accommodation in a peri-urban area R18,900 per annum
  • Accommodation in a rural area is R15,750 per annum
  • Transport (up to 40 km from the institution) R7,350  per annum
  • Transport R7000 per annum
  • Incidental/personal care allowance R2900 per annum

Requirements Required To Apply For Nsfas 2025

Every student who wants to apply must have the following:

  • Consent Form
  • complete and sign the form
  • South Africa Identity Document: Certified copy ID(not older than 3 months, Certified copies of parent/s or guardian ID or Death certificate
  • Proof of Income
  • PWD(Persons with Disability): Complete disability form
  • Latest Academic Result

Other documents that may be required, if applicable

  • Retrenchment letter
  • Death certificate/s
  • Divorce Decree
  • Proof of legal guardianship
  • Marriage certificate
  • other documents may be required for appeal purposes,….eg retrenchment letter

Create a profile: Use this link to register for a myNSFAS account: https://my.nsfas.org.za/ or get the NSFAS App from the App Store or Google Play. Your username will be your ID number.
Apply now: To amend your personal information and upload the supporting documents for your application, click the “Apply” option.
Complete: Submit your application
