Nsfas is a South African government body that provides financial support to students who are from a family with financial difficulty to enrol in tertiary schools (universities and colleges). In order for every student to get access to good education no matter the financial status of their families, Nsfas through the authority of the Department of Higher Education and Training gives the bursaries so no student will be left out to get for themselves good and quality education.

 

All Nsfas applicants are required to register a MyNsfas account (Nsafs portal) in order to access and manage all of the vital data pertaining to the National Student Financial Aid Scheme. Since all Nsfas-related tasks are completed online, it is advised that all applicants set up a myNsafs account so they can access all Nsfas-related tasks and information.

 

Once you’ve signed up with Nsfas, you’ll have access to your login details, passwords, phone numbers, and other information, enabling applicants to log in using any device, even cell phones. The application period for the 2023–2024 NSFAS applications will be open from November 2, 2022, through January 7, 2023. All applicants are recommended to submit their applications within this time.

To login to the Nsfas Portal system kindly follow the steps below:

 

• Go to www.nsfas.org.za and click on “myNsfas account“.

 

• Enter your username and password.

 

• Click on the “My personal details” tab.

 

• Update your cellphone number and/or email address to your current one.

 

• Click “Update your details” to proceed.

 

• A one-time pin (OTP) will be sent to the new number and email address that you have provided.

 

• Enter the OTP and click submit.

 

• Your details will immediately be updated.

 

Note: Your email address is your username. Protect your username and password.

When you submit an application for financing through the NSFAS, you may typically expect to hear back a few days after the deadline, which is, January 21st 2023.
