How Many Years Does Nsfas Fund A Student

Fresh or new students who have just been enrolled or first-time applicants of Nsfas(who may be in school already but have not applied for Nsfas before) are permitted to apply for the Nsfas. Based on the funds available each year, NSFAS will only provide support to you if you meet the criteria for eligibility under the means test for a maximum of about five years.

 

If your chosen course exceeds five years then you need to pay for the rest of the years. You will be responsible for paying for yourself until you graduate if you regularly change your programme of study and finish your certification more than five years after starting.

 

What Does The Nsfas Funds Cover For Universities And Colleges In 2023-2024

The following are some examples of the additional costs that NSFAS will pay with a bursary:

• Tuition fees
• Accommodation
• Transport
• Living allowances
• Book allowances
• Incidental/personal care allowance for students in catered residences

 

Online Application Date Open For Nsfas Funds 2023-2024

The NSFAS application doors will be open to all applicants beginning on November 2, 2022, and closing on January 7, 2023. Therefore, applicants are requested to submit their applications by the deadline.
