Tshwane North Tvet College

Tshwane North Tvet College formally an FET now a technical and vocational college situated in the Tshwane Metropolis of Gauteng is an accredited Tvet college by Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). Currently, the college has six campuses Mamelodi; Pretoria; Rosslyn; Soshanguve North; Soshanguve South and Temba respectively.

Statistics shows that the college has students population of 21000 and above with a supporting staffs of about 327 Lecturers. In April 201, the college launched Artisanship Development Programmes which saw 26 artisans trained in bricklaying, in fitting and turning and electrical engineering.

To make impact in the society, the College also in 2014, october, resgistered about 40 students mostly disadvantaged families and orphanage homes in and around Mamelodi into the Locksmith programme through a partnership with locksmith Association of South Africa, Masterkey and SASSETA. As a student looking for an accredited college to further your education , Tshwane North Tvet college among the top most Tvet colleges in South Africa.

Below are List of Memorandums of understanding had been signed between the College and the following SETA’S and Government Departments:

  • Health and welfare SETA – Artisanship programme (100 students)
  • The Department of Rural Development (NARYSEC)
  • EWSETA (Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority )
  • Transport Education and Training Authority (TETA ) – Professional Driver’s License (envisaged programme)
  • ETDP Seta – End User Computing.
  • FOODBEV Seta – Food Packaging NQF Level 1 – (Envisaged programme offering)-Lecturer placement in conjunction with Bidvest)
  • Wholesale and Retail Seta
  • Petro Mine Cullinan Diamond Mine Tshwane North College is intending to set up a campus at Cullinan to offer Occupational skills and short skills (2016). AIDC
  • SAMSUNG – Refrigeration and air conditioners at Temba Campus.
  • DHET SKILLING OF STAFF

What about Business Studies Programmes?

Nated Business Studies programmes are all semester programmes. A semester is a system that divides the year into two equal seasons, each semester is six months long. Applications for these programmes will open soon, dates to be announced in the coming weeks.

Can i apply for one or more programmes? No, TNC only allows for one application per application period.

How do i check my Application status?

To check your online application status you need to visit our student portal and login with your credentials. Visit Student portal

What is a trimester?

A Trimester is a system that divides the year into three equal seasons, each trimester is four months long. At TNC, all Nated engineering programmes are categorised into trimester seasons.

when will i know my application outcome?
The Selection Process is an on-going process that begins on the first day of applications until a week after the closing date and all applicants will be contacted.

when will NC(V) Applications be Open?
National Certificate (Vocational) programmes are year programmes and applications to enrol only open once in the last quarter of the year for the upcoming year.

Do You accept late applications for semester and NC(V) Programmes?
No, the College will not be accepting any late applications at this time. Any changes will be announced at the right time.

Can i hand deliver my application? TNC no more accept any hand delivered applications. ONLY Online Applications.

Will i be able to upgrade my Matric at TNC?
TNC does not offer Matric upgrade or re-write. No Public TVET College offers that.

Do you offer any student accomodation? TNC does not offer any form of accommodation at our six different campuses.

What is a Placement Test
It is a test designed to evaluate an applicant’s general knowledge and proficiency in various programmes offered in the college. The results of these tests are used by the college to help advice prospective students on which programmes they are best suited in.
